The ketogenic diet is powerful for improving fat burning and placing the body in a state of healing. While there are many online guides to beginning this diet (such as this one), sometimes it can be overwhelming to begin a new style of eating. The first week you are tracking how you eat and live to establish a baseline. Once you have established how many grams of net carb (total carbs minus fiber), protein, and fat you are eating each day, you can map out the rest of your journey to ketosis. In week 2, you will double the amount of healthy fat you eat and half the amount of net carbs you eat each day. In weeks 3 and 4 you will repeat these rules until you are consuming about 50g of net carb a day. Your protein will hold steady at about 75 to 125 g (1g per kg of body weight. And your healthy fat total will be about 100-150 g per day.
